ハイキュー！！って？What is "Haikyu!!"?
物語の主人公は、日向翔陽（ひなたしょうよう）という小柄な少年です。日向は中学時代、バレーボールに魅せられ、「小さな巨人」と呼ばれる低身長ながらも全国大会で活躍した選手に憧れます。しかし、初めて出場した公式戦で、「コート上の王様」と異名を取る天才セッター・影山飛雄（かげやまとびお）に惨敗してしまいます。
日向は高校でリベンジを果たそうと、小さな巨人が在籍した宮城県立烏野高校に進学します。しかし、そこには影山の姿があります。日向と影山は最初は反発しあいますが、やがてコンビプレーである「変人速攻」を完成させ、烏野高校のエースコンビとして成長していきます。
烏野高校バレーボール部には、他にも個性豊かなメンバーが揃っています。主将の澤村大地（さわむらだいち）、副主将の菅原孝史（すがわらこうし）、ムードメーカーの田中龍之介（たなかりゅうのすけ）、守護神の西谷夕（にしのやゆう）、冷静沈着な月島蛍（つきしまけい）、ピンチサーバーの山口忠（やまぐちただし）、マネージャーの清水潔子（しみずきよこ）、顧問の武田一鉄（たけだいってつ）、コーチの鳥養繋心（うかいけいしん）などです。
烏野高校バレーボール部は、全国大会優勝を目指して様々なライバルと対戦します。青葉城西高校の及川徹（おいかわとおる）、音駒高校の孤爪研磨（こづめけんま）、白鳥沢学園高校の牛島若利（うしじまわかり）、伊達工業高校の木兎光太郎（きとうこうたろう）、稲荷崎高校の宮侑（みやあつむ）と日向旭（ひなたあさひ）、梟谷学園高校の黒尾鉄朗（くろおてつろう）と赤葦京治（あかあしきょうじ）などです。
ハイキュー！！は、バレーボールのルールやプレイを分かりやすく説明しながら、登場人物たちの感情や成長を丁寧に描いています。
"Haikyu!!" is a youth sports manga series created by Haruichi Furudate, revolving around the theme of volleyball. It was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020 and concluded with a total of 45 volumes. The cumulative circulation of the series has surpassed 55 million copies.
The protagonist of the story is a short boy named Shoyo Hinata. Inspired by a short but talented player known as the "Small Giant," Hinata becomes captivated by volleyball during his middle school years. However, in his first official match, he suffers a devastating defeat against Tobio Kageyama, a genius setter known as the "King of the Court."
Determined to seek revenge, Hinata enrolls in Karasuno High School, the school where the Small Giant once attended. To his surprise, Kageyama is also there. Initially at odds with each other, Hinata and Kageyama eventually form a formidable combo play called the "Freak Quick" and grow together as the ace duo of Karasuno High School.
The Karasuno High School volleyball club is comprised of other colorful characters, including the captain Daichi Sawamura, vice-captain Koshi Sugawara, the team's mood-maker Ryuunosuke Tanaka, the guardian deity Yu Nishinoya, the calm and collected Kei Tsukishima, the pinch server Tadashi Yamaguchi, the manager Kiyoko Shimizu, the advisor Ittetsu Takeda, and the coach Keishin Ukai.
Karasuno High School's volleyball club competes against various rivals as they aim for victory in the national tournament. Some notable opponents include Tohru Oikawa from Aoba Johsai High School, Koji Kozume from Nekoma High School, Wakatoshi Ushijima from Shiratorizawa Academy, Kotaro Bokuto and Keiji Akaashi from Fukurodani Academy, and Tetsuro Kuroo and Kyoji Akaashi from Inarizaki High School.
"Haikyu!!" skillfully depicts the rules and plays of volleyball while intricately portraying the emotions and growth of its characters.
