NANAって？What is NANA?

NANAとは、矢沢あいによる日本の少女漫画で、2000年から2009年まで集英社の月刊誌『Cookie』に連載されていた作品です。また、原作を基にした実写映画やテレビアニメなどの関連作品もあります。NANAは、同じ名前を持つ2人の女性の出会いと成長を描いた物語です。

主人公は、大崎ナナと小松奈々です。大崎ナナは、ロックバンド「BLACK STONES」のボーカルとして歌手になる夢を追って上京する女性です。小松奈々は、彼氏と同棲するために上京する女性ですが、彼氏に浮気されて別れてしまいます。2人は偶然同じ新幹線に乗り合わせ、その後、東京で同じアパートの同じ部屋番号（707号室）を探していることが判明し、共同生活を始めます。

2人のナナは、それぞれの恋愛や友情、夢や現実に直面しながらも、互いに支え合って生きていきます。大崎ナナは、元恋人でありトップバンド「TRAPNEST」のギタリストである本城蓮と再会し、再び交際を始めますが、彼もまた薬物に手を出してしまいます。小松奈々は、TRAPNESTのベーシストである河野タクミと関係を持ち、妊娠して結婚しますが、彼もまた女遊びが激しく、幸せな家庭を築けないでいます。

物語は1999年から始まり、単行本第21巻の時点で2002年3月まで進んでいます。しかし、第12巻以降は数年後のシーンが随所に挿入されており、そこでは大崎ナナが行方不明になり、小松奈々が皐という子供と暮らしていることが示唆されています。

NANAは、少女漫画というジャンルにとどまらず、青春や恋愛や音楽などのテーマをリアルに描き出した作品です。登場人物たちの感情や葛藤は読者の心に深く刺さります。また、作中では様々な音楽が登場し、ロックバンドの魅力や苦悩も伝わってきます。
